DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (August 27th) sold 8,533 store lambs and breeding sheep at their annual sale.
Suffolk cross lambs (2,757) averaged £57.70 and sold to £65.50 gross from Aldourie Home Farm, Inverness.
Texel cross lambs (2,663) averaged £57.16 and sold to £71.50 gross from Wester Balblair, Beauly.
Cross lambs (395) averaged £47.23 and sold to £63 gross from Leodibest, Latheron.
Blackface lambs (235) averaged £36.66 and sold to £51 gross from 72 Westford, Alness.
Charollais cross lambs (362) averaged £56.55 and sold to £64 gross from 19 Holmisdale, Glendale.
Beltex cross lambs (668) averaged £63.96 and sold to £75 gross from Barrogill Mains, Mey.
Cheviot lambs (612) averaged £42.51 and sold to £60 gross from Wester Balblair.
Other breeds (524) averaged £54.42 and sold to £72 gross from Seafield House, Portmahomack.
Breeding sheep (317) sold to £87.50 for Suffolk cross ewes from Muirton Mains, Muir of Ord.
"A tremendous show of lambs on offer met an extremely strong demand. Overall sale average was £7.80 up on the corresponding sale of last year with an increased entry."
