DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (August 19th) sold 8,607 store lambs at their annual sale.
Cheviot wedder lambs (5,670) averaged £51.61 (up £8.49 on the year) and sold to £60.50 gross thrice for a pen of 25 from Millnain, Strathpeffer, a pen of 23 from Achentoul, Kinbrace (J. S. Henderson), and a pen of 27 from 1 Dounie, Edderton.
Cheviot ewe lambs (2,141) averaged £45.91 (up £6.31 on the year) and sold to £65 gross for a pen of 12 from Achentoul (Henderson).
Suffolk cross lambs (185) averaged £59.67 (up £7.62 on the year) and sold to £63 gross for a pen from 5 Strollomus, Broadford, Isle of Skye.
Texel cross lambs (318) averaged £57.69 (up £7.85 on the year) and sold to £60.50 gross for a pen from 7 Achrimsdale, Brora.
Cross lambs (293) averaged £48.27 (up £10.41 on the year) and sold to £61 gross for Beltex crosses from Dunlichity, Farr.
"All classes of lambs continued to sell at a similar level to last weeks sale, with strong, well bred lambs in particular demand."
