DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (September, 2nd) sold 3,577 store and breeding sheep incorporating annual sale of HISHA accredited sheep and first sale on behalf of Lewis Livestock Producers.
Store lambs (1,470) averaged £44.42 and sold to £60 gross for Suffolk crosses from Spittal Mains, Watten.
Ewe lambs (389) averaged £59.10 and sold to £135 gross for HISHA accredited Halfbreds from Millquoy, Stenness, Orkney.
Gimmers (159) averaged £138.54 and sold to £190 gross for HISHA accredited Cheviot Mules from Cambusmore Estate, Dornoch.
Ewes (76) sold to £138 for a Halfbreds from Woodside Croft, Ardersier.
Lewis Livestock Producers lambs (1,455) averaged £46.77 and sold to £62 gross twice for Crosses from 10 Ballantrushal, and 1 Lionel, Ness.
"The breeding sheep section saw gimmers meet an excellent demand with ewe lambs slightly more hesitant. All classes of store lambs continued to sell extremely well."

Bullocks (125) averaged 299.6p per kg and sold to 361.3p per kg for a pen of 191kg Limousin crosses from 387 Elphin, Lairg and £2,000 gross for a 650kg British Blue cross from Easter Kirk, Wick.
