Feeding Sheep (370) sold to £160 gross for a Texel cross ewe from Muirton Mains, Urray.
"An increased number of hoggs forward cashed in at increased rates on the week. A lot of weight was around again which hindered the pence per kg average but aided the overall gross price. There is a distinct difference between hoggs which are fed and those that aren't, it is beneficial for vendors to feed their hoggs. Ewe trade remains buoyant and again a full company of buyers were out in force. Export and leaner ewes were considerably dearer, and the heaver end cashed in at recent high rates."
