Old Season Lambs (536) averaged 224.9p (+13.6p) and sold to 264.4p per kg for a pen of 43.5kg Beltex Crosses from Dunain Farms, Inverness and £120 gross for a 59kg Mule from Achnabat, Torness.
SQQ Lambs 25.5kg to 45.5kg (360) averaged 228.0p (+16.3p) and sold to 264.4p.
Feeding Sheep (354) sold to £186 gross for a Charollais Ram from Achnagairn, Kirkhill.
"The sheep ring was graced with the aroma of Valentine's Day love, as Cupid's arrow struck more love into the sheep trade. Hoggs were considerably sharper than of late. All classes were more buoyant, in particular hoggs that have been on feed. Another mixed show of ewes forward cashed in at similar rates to those witnessed last week.
A very kind donation from Messrs Macpherson, Blackford who put forward a Mule Ewe for the Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal. The ewe realised £110 in the ring and the price was later doubled by the purchaser of the aforementioned ewe."
