DINGWALL., Dingwall and Highlands Marts Ltd., (September 14th) sold 5,230 sheep of all classes including Lewis's livestock producers.
Lambs (3,332) averaged £58.22 and sold to £115 gross for a Suffolk cross from Foxhole, Kiltarlity
Tup lambs (182) sold to £107 gross for a pen of crosses from Druim Kinerras, Kiltarlity.
Ewes & Feeding sheep (319) sold to £223 gross for a pair of Texel ewe from 30 Balallan, Isle of Lewis.
Gimmers (85) sold to £140 for a Cheviot from 1 Stable Cottage, Allangrange.
Lewis Livestock Producers lambs (1,312) averaged £51.22 and sold to £94 gross for a pen of Texel crosses from 24b Lionel, Ness.
"Another busy store sheep sale was held in Dingwall today greeted by another drive of buyers. Trade on a whole was sharper by £5 per head on the week with the straight end. Once again being the easiest commodity to cash."
