Feeding Sheep (591) sold to £168 gross for a Cheviot ram from Muirton, Munlochy.

"Prime sheep trade continues to surpass all expectations with a new centre record being set in both the average and top gross price departments. Also joining the party was the highest gross priced hoggs to leave Stornoway which realized £170 for two Suffolks consigned by Mr. C D Macmillan, 25 Lower Barvas, overall an electric trade greeted vendors culminating in an average of 318.0p per kg and many more could easily have been sold."
