DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (September, 15th) sold 6,081 store lambs and ewes including 1,567 on behalf of Lewis Livestock Producers.
Lambs (4,133) averaged £51.52 and sold to £70 gross thrice for Texel crosses from Kinnahaird Farm, Contin, Cheviots from Bogburn Farm, Duncanston, and Cheviot Mules also from Kinnahaird Farm.
Ewes & gimmers (372) averaged £48.23 and sold to £88 gross for Cross gimmers from Old Croft House, Carrbridge.
Lewis Livestock Producers lambs (1,374) sold to £62 gross thrice for Cheviots from 31 North Tolsta, Suffolk crosses from 15 Coll and Blackfaces also from 31 North Tolsta.
Lewis Livestock Producers feeding sheep (193) sold to £77 gross for a Cheviot ram from 10 Vatisker.
"Keeping lambs of all classes fully maintained recent high rates whilst strong lambs tended easier."
