DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 5th) sold 293 store cattle and 42 OTM cattle at their special show and sale of store cattle including Aberdeen Angus section.
The judge, Mr A. Cumming, Mains of Tillydesk, Ellon, awarded the Continental champion to a 450kg Limousin bullock from Messrs W. F. Cruickshank & Sons, Clury, realising £970, and the reserve to a 485kg Limousin bullock from the Firm of J. Munro & Son, Invercharron, Ardgay, realising £900. In the Aberdeen Angus section the champion prize went to a 430kg bullock from Messrs G. & E. Baikie, Easter Duthil, realising £910. The Aberdeen Angus reserve went to a 430kg bullock also from Messrs G. & E. Baikie, Easter Duthil, realising £910.

Aberdeen Angus bullocks (114) averaged 189.8p and sold to 211.6p per kg for a pair of 430kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Easter Duthil, and £950 gross for a 570kg purebred from 3 Corrie Place, Muir of Ord.
Aberdeen Angus heifers (56) averaged 163.1p and sold to 174.3p per kg for a pen of 393kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Scottag, Watten.
Continental bullocks (90) averaged 190.7p and sold to 220.9p per kg for a 335kg British Blue cross from Upperton, Glenurquhart, and £990 gross for a pair of 538kg Limousins from Balgunloune, North Kessock.
Continental heifers (32) averaged 179p and sold to 193.3p per kg for the continental reserve champion, a Limousin from Invercharron Mains, Ardgay and £910 gross for a pair of 512kg Charolais crosses from Fiddlefield.
OTM feeding cows (35) averaged 108p and sold to 141.0p per kg and £945 gross for a 670kg Limousin cross from Sibster Burn.
OTM clean bullocks and heifers (7) averaged 127.5p and sold to 134.9p per kg and £735 gross for a Limousin cross heifer from Coulmore, North Kessock.
"Quality cattle of all breeds met a firm enquiry and were short of requirements."
