DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, sponsored by Highland Industrial Supplies and supported by the Zwartbles Sheep Association, (November, 22nd) sold 39 Pedigree, Pure and Cross Bred Zwartbles.
Dingwall's annual sale is becoming quite a spectacle to be seen with demand rising especially further afield in pedigree flocks. Despite the adverse weather conditions a strong quality of sheep were forward.
An exceptional show of sheep were forward for the pre-sale show, judged by Mrs. Kathryn Cowin from the Hellstanes flock travelled from Lanark to judge the sheep braving the A9 despite the snow.

Top Price of the day was from Messrs Carrie, Sarah and Iain's homebred Gimmer Carrah Luna who is scanned twins, a frantic frenzy of bidding around the ring and over the phone bidding was knocked down to Mr. Raymond Heigh of the Brookdene flock in Yorkshire at £800.
The champion prize of the day was awarded to Miss Laura Marwick from the Druid Temple Flock with the ewe lamb Druid Temple Marnie who was apart of the Scottish Flock competitions first prize pen of ewe lambs judged earlier in the year. Marnie sold for £350 and will travel south to Ulverston to join Mike and Amy Biglands of the Biglands Flock.
Mrs Sammy Stewart braved the weather from the east and travelled earing first prize in-lamb ewe with Janetstown Gaia and in the ring sold to Mr. Andrew Bateman who for the second consecutive year travelled north to Dingwall. Sammy sold to £700 twice both join Mr. Bateman's Holmepride Flock.
Regular Consigners of Dingwall Mart, Mr. Philip Gill and Ms. Mandy Etheridge had 2 strong tups entered a shearling and a tup lamb hitting £275 and £130.
In the non-MV section prices hit £120 thrice for a two-shear tup from Miss Eleanor Grieve from Glenlyon and Miss Georgia Munro with two pure tup lambs.
Top Price for the crosses in the commercial section was £112 for a gimmer from Mrs. S Will, Turriff.
