DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (October, 21st) sold 527 rams at its annual show and sale of North County Hill Cheviots.
The overall champion was a two shear from Mr B. Ross, Mid Gruinards, Ardgay, which realised £900 to Messrs MacDowall, Habost, Lochs, Isle of Lewis. The reserve champion award went to a two shear from Mr E. J. Fox, Elsdonburn, Wooler, Northumberland, realising £800 to Mr G. Macrae, Innis-a-Chro, Newton of Ferintosh, Dingwall.
Shearlings (83) sold to £800 gross twice from Gilston, Heriot.
Two shears (312) sold to £3,500 gross from Stouphill, Humbleheugh, Heriot.
Three shears (84) sold to £2,600 gross from Keppoch Farm, Dundonnell.
Four shears (28) sold to £9,200 gross from Keoldale Sheep Stock Club.
Five shears (6) sold to £750 gross from Attonburn, Yetholm.
Ram lambs (4) sold to £200 gross from Tulloch Ard, Dunbeath.
