Old Season Lambs (520) averaged 320.6p per kg and sold to 353.0p per kg for 45kg Texel Crosses from 8 Englishtonmuir, Bunchrew and £190 gross for a 61kg Charollais Cross from Easter Dalziel Farm, Dalcross.
Feeding Sheep (623) sold to £245 for a Texel Ewe from Inveruglas Farm, Kingussie.
"More weight was around in the prime hogg ring today. This shows the average pence per KG being a touch down on the week, however the real story is that all classes cashed in at comparable rates on the week. Export types were in particular sought after and short of buyer's requirements.
Another good number of ewes saw increased demand which led to a sharp trade across the board despite an influx of lean hill ewes which were on offer today."
