DINGWALL, Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd., (April 8th) sold 874 Aberdeen Angus, Native Bred and Continental Store Cattle, The pre-sale show was kindly sponsored by Ian S Roger Haulage Ltd, Forgie, Keith and was judged by Mr Douglas Gill, Brucefield, Portmahomack.

"Dingwall Marts annual Aberdeen Angus shown and sale, once again kindly sponsored by Ian S Roger Haulage and ably judged by Mr Douglas Gill, Brucefield, Portmahomack. Champion ticket was awarded to L & A Taylor Ardjachie, scaling 365kg and realised £2,520 to Messrs Maciver, Easter Strath of Auchterflow whom also stepped on and purchased the reserve champion consigned by Midfearn Farms, Ardgay weighing 725kg at £2,850. Overall a brisk trade greeted vendors of Dingwall with all classes of cattle dearer once again.

Aberdeen Angus bullocks (296) averaged 448.0p per kg and sold to 516.9p per kg for a pen of 325kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from North Calder, Halkirk and £2,850 gross for a 725kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Midfearn Farm, Ardgay.
Aberdeen Angus heifers (164) averaged 402.1p per kg and sold to 498.7p per kg for a 373kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Midfearn Farm, Ardgay and £2,400 gross for a pen of 575kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Lochdhu Farm, Nairn.

Aberdeen Angus young bulls (3) sold to 461.5p per kg for a 325kg Aberdeen Angus from 1 Raddery, Fortrose and £1,700 gross twice for a 470kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Clynelish, Brora and for a 405kg Aberdeen Angus from Kilmaluag House, Duntulm.
Other native bullocks (85) averaged 429.4p and sold to 463.3p per kg for a pen 300kg Beef Shorthorn cross from Kintradwell Estate, Brora and £2,320 gross for a 574kg kg Beef Shorthorn cross from 6 Habost, Lochs.

Other native heifers (62) averaged 400.4p per kg and sold to 437.7p per kg for a 297kg Beef Shorthorn cross from Morile, Tomatin and £2,600 gross for a 695kg Beef Shorthorn cross from Badrain, Culbokie.

Other native young bulls (14) sold to £1,980 gross for a 560kg Luing from Claitair House, Lochs.
Continental bullocks (135) averaged 441.0p per kg and sold to 554.8p per kg for a 155kg Limousin cross from 4 Balnacnoc, Uig and £2,320 gross for a 545kg Limousin cross from Rothiemurchas Estate, Aviemore.

Continental heifers (115) averaged 411.6p per kg and sold to 509.7p per kg for a 310kg Limousin cross from 4 & 5 Totescore, Kilmuir and £2,500 gross for a 605kg Simmental cross from Easter Springfield, Balblair.
