Introduction to Food Hygiene Training 10.00-1.30pm, Wednesday February 22nd, at Telford House, Williamson Street, Wick. Covering food law and HACCP, food hygiene management systems, and myths surrounding food preparation. The training is approved by the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland. Full-day Elementary Food Hygiene course, Wednesday February 29th,
9.15-4.45pm, at Telford House, Williamson Street, Wick.
This is a nationally recognised certificated course. Those who hold the
certificate are allowed to work with food unsupervised and with six
others who do not have a certificate.
The course covers the following topics:
* An introduction to food hygiene
* Bacteria and their characteristics
* The incidence of food poisoning and its prevention
* Personal hygiene
* The working environment (wall, floor, surface finishings, equipment, waste disposal, lighting, etc.)
* Cleaning practices
* Pests and their control
* Food legislation
