DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (December, 19th) sold 80 MV accredited pedigree females at its annual show and sale.
The judge, Mr John Macgregor, Allanfauld, Kilsyth, awarded the Suffolk champion to a gimmer by Cairness Stockbroker, carrying a single to Rookery Rooney, from Mr R. Wilson, Strathisla Flock, North Dorlaithers, Turriff, and realising 500gns. She also went on to take the overall interbreed reserve award. Reserve in the Suffolk section went to a Cairness Kaos gimmer carrying a single to Forkins Figo, also consigned from the Strathisla flock.
In the Beltex section, champion went to a Lyonpark Norman gimmer in lamb to Northcop PC Price, from Messrs M. & I. Bissett, Mariain, Evanton, realising 420gns to Messrs MacDowall, Habost, Isle of Lewis. The reserve award went to a Buckles Masterpiece gimmer from Messrs J. Scott & Partners, Fearn, Tain, carrying a single to Loandhu Shotgun, realising 420gns also to Messrs MacDowall.
Texel champion and overall interbreed champion was awarded to a Glenside Razzle Dazzle gimmer carrying a pair to Deveronvale Pacemaker, consigned from Iain Farquhar, Silverleys, Insch, realising 1250gns to the judge. The reserve award went to John Peterkin, Barnyards, Beauly, with a Barnyards Rascal gimmer carrying a single to Sportsmans Toploader, realising 800gns to Douglas Webster, Lower Reiss, Wick.
In lamb gimmers: Suffolk sold to 500gns twice from North Dorlaithers, Turriff. Beltex sold to 420gns from Fearn Farm, Tain. Texel sold to 1250gns from Silverleys, Insch.
In lamb ewes: Suffolk sold to 450gns from Barry House, Glenbarry. Beltex sold to 300gns from Mariain, Evanton. Texel sold to 320gns from Tri-deug, Watten. Zwartbles sold to 320gns from Chapelpark, Kingussie.
Ewe lambs: Suffolk sold to 200gns from Mariain. Beltex sold to 480gns from Mariain. Texel sold to 380gns from Weston, Deskford. Zwartbles sold to 250gns thrice from Chapelpark.
