DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (February, 13th) sold 1,380 sheep of all classes.
Lambs (852) averaged £42.45 and sold to £85 gross for Texels from Teanluick, Beauly, (Beaton).
Ewes (495) averaged £52.35 and sold to £109 gross for a Texels from Bunchrew, Inverness.
Rams and feeding sheep (35) averaged £41.17 and sold to £70 gross for a Cheviot ram from Glenlichd, Wester Balblair.
“Well bred fleshy lambs and ewes met an increased demand. Leaner and smaller types were harder to cash.”
