DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (February, 21st) sold 28 registered Cheviot females at its Harbro sponsored show and sale, and 89 in lamb Cheviots for the dispersal of the Amat flock on behalf of W R Cameron.
The judge Mr W. A. Mackay, South Balkeith, Tain, awarded his champion to the first prize in lamb ewe, a homebred ewe carrying twins to Elsdonburn Tam from Messrs Achentoul Farms, realising £300 to the Messrs Leanach Farm, Culloden, with the reserve award going to the first prize gimmer, a homebred daughter carrying a single to a Forest Farm ram, from Mr A R Mackenzie, Heathmount, Tain.
In the Main Register show, Mr Mackay awarded his champion to the first prize ewe lamb from Messrs J & J Farquhar, Smiddyquoy, Watten, sired by Roadside Mighty Fine, realising £520, and the reserve award to the second prize ewe lamb, sired by Ericstane Concept, from Mr P J Fraser, Tighnahinch, Dingwall, realising £250 to F M Birnie, Mill Croft, Mulben.
