DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (May, 22nd) sold 131 pedigree and commercial Luing cattle at their fifth annual spring breeding sale sponsored by W & A Geddes and Harbro Ltd.
Pedigree in calf heifers (12) averaged �1,456.88 and sold to 1650gns (�1,732.50) for a pair of 35 month old heifers from Mr J S Murray, West Preston, Kirkbean, to D Macarthur, Ravensview, Achterneed, Strathpeffer.
Pedigree bulling heifers (88) averaged �1,190.91 and sold to 1800gns (�1,890) for a pair of 25 month old heifers from Messrs A L & A C McCall, Culmaily Farm, Golspie, to Messrs John Lawrie, Tillyrie, Milnathorte.
Pedigree yearling heifers (18) averaged �625.92 and sold to 850gns twice (�892.50) for a pair from Welbeck Scottish Farms, Ousdale, Berriedale, to B W Johnstone, Achnabat, Dores.
Registered Sim-Luing heifers (10) averaged �960.75 and sold to 1100gns (�1,155.00) for a 24 month old heifer from G Towns, Easdale, Turriff, to Messrs Smallburn Farms, Duffus, Elgin.
Bulls (3) sold to 4200gns for a 25 month old from F S Renwick, Clachan Farm, Ullapool, to C Swift, South Clunes, Kirkhill, Inverness.

Breeding cattle (6) sold to �780 gross for a cow with a heifer calf from 1/9 Camustianvaig, Isle of Skye.
Bulls (3) sold to �960 gross from Oldtown of Leys Farm, Inverness.
�A mixed show sold well.�

Bulls (18) sold to �3,000 gross twice for a British Shorthorn from Smallburn Farms Ltd, and an Aberdeen Angus from Glenaldie, Tain.
