Mey Selections Appoints Harrold Bros. Wick As Catering & Food Service Supplier

Mey Selections beef and lamb will now be available to restaurants and hoteliers in Caithness and Sutherland via Harrold Bros Butchers in Wick. On the 20th February Danny Miller, the Chairman of North Highland Products presented Neil Harrold with a signed Mey Selections Licensee certificate for display in Harrold's premises in Wick.
Danny Miller, chairman of North Highlands Products, who presented the certificate, said, "I am delighted to welcome Harrold Bros into the Mey Selections supply chain. We need quality butchers and foodservice suppliers to support and distribute our quality products. I fully expect that Harrold Bros will satisfy the demand for Mey Selections products that we have seen from a large number of restaurants and hotels in the area. We look forward to seeing the beef and lamb from our local farmers on more and more of the menu cards of catering establishments in the North Highlands. Neil will also be selling Mey Selections beef and lamb to retail customers in his shop in Wick."
Speaking in his shop in Wick Neil Harrold said, "We are pleased to be accepted as a Licensee of Mey Selections beef and lamb and look forward to increasing sales of this quality local product in the catering trade in the North Highlands. Our customers will be getting the same award-winning beef and lamb as famous restaurants in Glasgow or London. And I can promise you - it's delicious!"

In recognition of its quality, Mey Selections Rib-eye Beef won the SuperMeat Award in the Fresh Meat Category in an event organised by the Meat Traders Journal earlier this year.
Mey Selections is the brand name owned by North Highland Products Limited, the company formed by Caithness farmers to select and source premium quality food and drink products from the most northerly area of the British Isles All Mey Selections products originate from within 100 miles radius of the Castle of Mey. There are c. 250 farmer members of North Highland products.
The formation of the company is a direct result of the North Highlands Initiative inspired by HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, launched in August 2005 to boost the economy of the region. One of the Prince's watercolours of the Castle is used as the Mey Selections logo.
The range of Mey Selections products has been extended to include Highland Blue Cheese, produced by Highland Fine Cheeses, Tain, and Barrogill Blended Malt Whisky, produced by Inver House Distillers. Future plans aim to extend the range of Mey Selections into other product areas.

Mey Selections becomes first Scottish consumer goods company to put carbon labels on products Mey Selections, the Caithness based food brand, is the first consumer goods company in Scotland to be certified with the Carbon Trust's Carbon Reduction Label. Mey Selections Luxury Shortbread and two Honey products will carry the Carbon Reduction Label in stores from 1 May, demonstrating the company's work to measure and, crucially, its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint over the next two years.
The Kandahar Club races each year in Switzerland at the world famous Murren Inferno downhill ski race - the longest downhill race in the world. This year the North Highland's Mey Selections Barrogill has sponsored the Hulse-Palmer Cup which is awarded to the three Kandahar teams with the best improved times in the Inferno race, and to the member of the Club with the best individual performance.
Mey Selections won the Best Retail Initiative award last week at the NEC in Birmingham. The award, given by Radio 4's food and farming programme is seen as the Oscar of the food and farming world and it acknowledges Mey Selections outstanding achievement with customers on a national scale.
