DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (April 16th) sold 1008 store cattle including 158 breeding heifers.
Bullocks (407) averaged 243.1p and sold to 306.9p per kg for a 290kg Limousin cross from Auchmore Farm, Muir of Ord, and £1,360 gross for a 520kg Charolais cross from Mains of Clunas, Cawdor.
Heifers (498) averaged 232.8p and sold to 344.8p per kg for a pen of 435kg Simmentals from Easter Urray Farm, Muir of Ord, and £1,550 gross for a pen of 477kg Simmental crosses from Kinnahaird Farm, Contin.
Young bulls (2) averaged 216.5p and sold to 216.7p per kg for a 300kg Limousin from 1 Rychraggan, Drumnadrochit, and £660 gross for a 305kg Charolais cross from 20 Lonbuie, Culburnie.
“An excellent show met a firm demand with Charolais and best quality Limousin bullocks at extreme rates. Hi Health breeding heifers met a selective enquiry with top lots selling at a premium.”
