DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (May, 21st) sold 75 pedigree and commercial Luing cattle at their sixth annual spring breeding sale sponsored by W & A Geddes and Harbro Ltd.
Pedigree bulling heifers (40) averaged £1,311.18 and sold to 1600gns (£1,680.00) for a pair of 25 month old heifers from Messrs A L & A C McCall, Culmaily Farm, Golspie, to Messrs Tay & Torridon Estates, North Amulree, Dunkeld.
Pedigree yearling heifers (20) averaged £871.90 and sold to 980gns (£1029.00) for a pair from Welbeck Scottish Farms, Ousdale, Berriedale to Messrs P. & A. Bakker, Altnaharra.
Registered Sim-Luing yearling heifers (5) averaged £972.30 and sold to 980gns (£1,029.00) from Welbeck Scottish Farms, to Messrs J. D. & G. M. Hay, Edingarrioch, Insch.
Pedigree Luing heifers with calves at foot (2) sold to 1450gns (£1,522.50) for a 25 month old heifer with a heifer calf at foot from Mr M. J. McCall, Inverbrora, Brora, to Messrs Aird, Glenurquhart Farm, Cromarty.
Un-registered Sim-Luing yearling heifers (7) averaged £1021.50 and sold to 1200gns (£1,260.00) from Welbeck Scottish Farms, to Messrs A. S. Budge, Milton Farm, Halkirk.
Bulls (6) sold to 3100gns for a 26 month old from Messrs A. L. & A. C. McCall, Culmailly Farm, to J. Beattie, Auchentaggart, Sanquhar.
