DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (May, 22nd) sold 751 sheep of all classes.
Lambs (195) sold to £105 gross for a Texel cross ewe hoggs from the dispersal of the flock at 5 Forss, Thurso.
Ewes and gimmers (336) sold to £98 gross for Suffolk crosses from Easter Sheep Park, Balblair.
Ewes and gimmers with lambs at foot (158) averaged £140.56 and sold to £215 gross for Texel cross gimmers with twin Texel cross lambs at foot from the 5 Forss dispersal.
Rams and feeding sheep (62) sold to £170 gross for a Texel ram from the 5 Forss dispersal.
“A decent show of ewes with lambs at foot met a highly satisfactory demand although barely as dear as the previous sale. Store hoggs and prime ewes again met a firm enquiry.”
