DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (October, 31st) sold 583 rams at its annual show and sale of North County Hill Cheviots.
The overall champion was a two shear from Messrs W. D. Allen, Stouphill, Alnwick, realising £1200 to Mr T. J. C. Bradbury, Satchells, Melrose. The reserve champion award went to a three shear from Messrs Suisgill Estate, Sutherland, realising £3,300 to Mr R. Macdonald, Castle Grant Home Farm, Grantown on Spey.
Shearlings (79) sold to £1,100 gross from 185 Migdale, (Macleod), Bonar Bridge.
Two shears (364) sold to £5,000 gross from Castle Grant Home Farm, Grantown on Spey.
Three shears (82) sold to £3,300 gross from Suisgill Estate, Helmsdale.
Four shears (43) sold to £700 gross from Woodside Farm, Yetholm.
Five shears (4) sold to £700 gross from Gilston, Heriot.
Ram lambs (6) sold to £400 gross from 1 & 2 Ose, Isle of Skye.
"With buyers from Shetland to Cumbria, and the majority of the Islands, an excellent show of rams met with a steady trade throughout the day."
