DINGWALL, Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd., (December, 10th) sold 162 weaned calves and store cattle, 26 adult head of breeding cattle and 104 OTM cattle.
Bullocks (85) averaged 236.6p per kilo and sold to 304.5p per kilo for 220kg Charolais crosses from Corriebheinn Farm, Portree, and £1,180 gross for 568kg Shorthorn crosses from Badden, Kiltarlity.
Heifers (75) averaged 218.6p per kilo and sold to 274.1p per kilo for a pen of 228kg Limousin crosses from Achentoul Farms, Kinbrace, and £1,210 gross for a 550kg Simmental cross from Bayhead, Munlochy.
Young bulls (2) averaged 228.6p per kilo and sold to 242.9p per kilo for a 280kg Simmental cross from Welbeck Scottish Farms, Ousdale, and £760 gross for a 350kg Limousin cross from Balnabruich, Ardgay.
Cow with male calf at foot (3) sold to £1,250 gross for a Simmental cross from the 2 Hosta, Tigharry.
Cow with heifer calf at foot (one) sold to £1,100 gross for a Limousin cross from Corriebheinn Farm.
In-calf cow (20) sold to £1,120 gross for a Limousin cross from South Cuidreach, Earlish.
In-calf heifer (2) sold to £1,420 gross for a Limousin cross from Leabost, Glenhinnisdale.
Breeding bulls (10) sold to £1,550 gross for a Limousin from Drummond, Evanton.
OTM prime cows (36) averaged 134p and sold to 185p per kilo for a 535 Limousin cross from Dunain Mains, Inverness, and £1,190 gross for a 810kg Limousin cross from 103 Carnan, Eochdar.
OTM feeding cows (50) averaged 91.8p and sold to 113.6p per kilo for a 625kg Luing cross from Inverbrora, Brora, and £830 gross for a 760kg BBX cross from 38 Linique, Eochar.
OTM clean bullocks (8) sold to 107.2p per kg and £370 gross for a 345kg Highland bullock from Forest Enterprise, Torlundy.
