DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (March, 18th) sold 606 store cattle, 22 adult head of breeding cattle and 53 OTM cattle.
Bullocks (400) averaged 243.5p and sold to 300p per kg for a 240kg Limousin cross from Rychraggan, Drumnadrochit, and £1,350 gross for a pen of 556kg Charolais crosses from Redfield, North Kessock.
Heifers (201) averaged 230.8p and sold to 274.8p per kg for a pair of 302kg Charolais crosses from Culbin, Dingwall, and £1,270 gross for a 475kg Charolais cross from Ashlea, Milton of Culloden.
Young bulls (5) averaged 188.1p and sold to 208.7p per kg for a 345kg Limousin cross from Foxhole, Kiltarlity, and £870 gross for a pair of 462kg Limousin crosses from Culmaily, Golspie.
In-calf cows (16) averaged £1,198.13 and sold to £1,320 for a Saler from Achavrole Mains, Halkirk.
In-calf heifers (5) averaged £1,057.40 and sold to £1,420 for a Saler cross from Achavrole Mains.
Breeding bulls (one) Sold to £1,420 for a Limousin from No. 2 Broynach, by Thurso.
OTM cows (52) averaged 141.5p per kg and sold to 195.4p per kg for a Beef Shorthorn cross from Todholes, Weydale, and £1,430 gross for a 910kg Charolais cross from Torgorm, Conon Bridge.
OTM bulls (one) sold to 89.8p per kg and £970 for a 1,080kg Limousin from Udale, Poyntzfield
