DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (March, 25th) sold 2,436 sheep of all classes.
Lambs (972) averaged £54.20 and sold to £107 gross for Cheviot ewe lambs from Tighnahinch, Alcaig.
Ewes (1276) averaged £85.19 and sold to £150 gross thrice for a Texel from Bogallan, North Kessock, Continental crosses from Torgorm, Conon Bridge, and Texel crosses from Kilcoy, Killearnan.
In-lamb gimmers & ewes (34) averaged £116.76 and sold to £145 gross for Cheviots from 44 Scourie, Lairg.
Gimmers & ewes with lamb at foot (24) averaged £117.92 and sold to £145 gross for a Zwartbles from Achavelgin, Nairn.
Rams and feeding sheep (126) sold to £158 gross for Texels from Dunain Mains, Inverness.

"Prime and feeding ewes met the dearest trade of the season, a more mixed show of store hoggs tended slightly easier."
