Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd - Sale 15 July 2015

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (July, 15th) sold 1,527 store cattle and 3 adult head of breeding cattle at their 12th anniversary show and sale.

The Judge, Mr W. Cameron, Burnside of Edingight, Grange, Keith, chose as his overall champion in the T.S.H. Burns & Son, Solicitors sponsored show of single cattle, the intermediate champion, a 585kg 14-month old Limousin cross bullock from Mr G. Anderson, Auchenhalrig Farm, Spey Bay, which realised £1,500 to the judge.

The reserve champion award went to the senior champion, a 16-month old, 565kg Limousin cross bullock from Mr J. Farquharson, 25 Camultmuir, Kiltarlity, which realised £1,480 to Messrs G & S McConnachie, Berrybrae, Insch.

Bullocks (972) averaged 254.6p (+26.2p on the year) and sold to 338.2p per kg for a 275kg Charolais cross from Keppoch Farm, Dundonnell, and £1540 gross for a 680kg Charolais cross from Woodend, Killearnan.
Heifers (552) averaged 245.6p (+27.8p on the year) and sold to 306.2p per kg for a 258kg Charolais cross from Dunlichity Farm, Farr (W. Smith), and £1480 gross for a 535kg British Blue cross from Kirkton Farms.
Breeding cattle (3) sold to £1600 gross for a Limousin bull from Calrossie Mains, Nigg Station.
