Highland Council Service arrangements for Christmas and New year

Highland Council's administrative offices will close at 4pm on 23 December 2016 and reopen on 4 January 2017.
The Service Centre will close at 4pm on 23 December and open as normal on 28, 29 and 30 December (closing at 4pm on 30 December)
Service Points will be on reduced opening hours. For further details on individual office opening hours, please check the details of each office - http://www.highland.gov.uk/directory/16/service_points
Inverness Registration Office will close at 4 pm on 23 December. Please contact us on 07818 588 203 for advice or information regarding essential registrations in Highland. The office will reopen on 28 December at normal times.

Council calls for meaningful engagement from Home Office Over 300 Asylum Seekers Being Sent to Inverness
The Highland Council continues to call for meaningful engagement from the Home Office over its plans to temporarily accommodate up to 300 adult male asylum seekers at Cameron Barracks, Inverness. It follows an email on Monday from Alex Norris MP, Minister for Border Security and Asylum, to Council Leader, Raymond Bremner, which failed to answer questions raised by the Council or address community concerns.27/11/2025
