DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (February, 23rd) sold 1,591 sheep of all classes.
Lambs (599) averaged £45.06 and sold to £70 gross for a Texel from Lochdhu, Nairn.
Ewes (667) averaged £40.77 and sold to £102 gross for Texels from Invercharron, Ardgay.
In-lamb gimmers & ewes (262) averaged £99.77 and sold to £280 gross for Texels from Weston, Deskford.
Rams and feeding sheep (63) sold to £80 gross for Blue Faced Leicesters rams from Cawdor Estates, Cawdor.
"Strong lambs and ewes maintained a firm enquiry, with other classes more hesitant."

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (February, 23rd) sold 19 Blackface females at its show and sale.
Mr P. Stewart, Bomakelloch, Keith, judged the Blackface section and awarded his champion to the first prize in lamb gimmer from Midlock Farm, Crawford, a daughter off a homebred son of 50K Dalwyne carrying twins sired by a homebred son of 40K Dalchirla, realising £1100 to Mr J. D. Davidson, Waterside Farm, Bridge of Alford.
The reserve champion was awarded to the 2nd prize in lamb gimmer also from Midlock, a daughter off 40K Dalchirla carrying a single sired by a homebred son of 12K Aitkenhead, realising £800 to the judge Phil Stewart, Bomakelloch.
In the Blue Faced Leicester section the top price was awarded to Midlock Farm for a ewe lamb sired by 1538/H012 Midlock Big Yin out of a 1538/F27 Midlock Mustang dam realising £850.

Blackface – eight gimmers, £487.50; three ewes, £800; two lambs, £125.00.
BFL – six lambs, £468.33.
