DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (April 12th) sold 725 store cattle and 134 breeding heifers.
Store bullocks (293) averaged 245.2p and sold to 274.4p per kg for a pair of 390kg Limousin crosses from 2 Lochend, Thurso, and £1,250 gross for a 545kg Charolais cross from Easter Templand, Fortrose.
Store heifers (297) averaged 237.7p and sold to 288.1p per kg for a pen of 243kg Limousin cross from Auchmore Farm, Muir of Ord, and £1,200 gross for a pen of 475kg Charolais crosses from Torgorm, Conon Bridge.
Breeding heifers including HiHealth (134) averaged 243.6p and sold to 322.7p per kg for a 440kg Simmental cross from Blackford Farm, Croy, and £1,550 gross for a pair of 540kg British Blue crosses from Little Kildrummie, Nairn
Breeding cattle (3) sold to £1,550 for a Charolais cross cow with a heifer calf at foot from Stittenham Farm, Ardross.
"An excellent show of mainly grazing cattle sold at extreme rates. Top quality breeding heifers also met a keen demand."
