DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (April, 19th) sold 16 pedigree bulls at their annual show and sale sponsored by Messrs Mackenzie, Whitebog, Fortrose, Aardvark Contracting Limited, Fortrose, Bank of Scotland & Surecalf with Zoetis.

The judge, Mr R. Mill, Forsie, Westfield, Thurso, awarded the supreme overall champion to Kinaldy Patrick, a 29 month old Aberdeen Angus by Promise Edinburgh, from Messrs Balavil Estate, Kingussie, to W S L Muir, Upper Onston, Orkney, for 2400gns. The reserve champion went to a 14 month old Simmental from Messrs D. & D. M. Leslie, Redhill Farm, Elgin.

Pedigree bulls (16) sold to a top of 3500gns for a 28 month old Charolais from Messrs J. H & S. M. Anderson, The Cloy, Fortrose, and averaged 2445gns (£2567.25).

Bulling heifers (12) sold to £1,350 gross for a British Shorthorn cross from Todholes, Weydale.

Cow with male calf (16) sold to £1,920 gross for a Simmental cross from the 7 Scaristavore, Isle of Harris.

Cow with female calf (24) sold to £2,300 gross for a British Blue from Upperton, Balnain.

Cow with twins (one) sold to £1,850 gross for a Limousin cross from the dispersal from Feabait Farm, Muir of Ord.

Heifer with female calf (one) sold to £850 gross for a British Shorthorn from 1 Obbe Road, Leverburgh.

In calf cows (19) sold to £1,400 gross for a Limousin cross from the dispersal of Feabait Farm.

In calf heifers (2) sold to £1,020 gross for Luing crosses from 5 Strathnaver, Kinbrace.

Bulls (6) sold to £3,400 gross for a Limousin from Easter Clune, Lethen.

"Well-bred bulls met a sound demand, breeding cows sold exceptionally well and were short of requirements."
