DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (October, 6th) sold 136 rams at its annual show and sale of Blackface rams, sponsored by PKN Nutrition and Scottish Woodlands.
The overall champion was a shearling from Messrs MacDonald, Dalbuiack, Carrbridge, realising £1,000 to Mrs M. M. Hannah, 2 Drumfearn, Isle of Skye. The reserve champion award went to a shearling from Miss Gemma MacKintosh, Upper Croft Na Garn, Boat of Garten, realising £550 to Mr R. Downie, Newton of Crathie, Ballater.
Shearlings (98) sold to £1,900 gross from Livetside, Achdregnie.
Two shears (12) sold to £2,100 gross from Blackford Farm, Croy.
Aged rams (9) sold to £500 gross from Milton Farm, Aberarder.
Ram lambs (17) sold to £300 gross from Tigh N'Ulaidh, Tomatin.

Lambs (99) averaged £45.93 and sold to £78 gross for a pen of Blackfaces from Tigh N'Ulaidh, Tomatin.
Ewes (1,660) averaged £29.30 and sold to £100 gross for a pen of Blackfaces from Arnicle, Glenbarr.
Gimmers (452) averaged £82.20 and sold to £175 gross for a pen of Blackfaces from Arnicle.
Rams (6) sold to £450 gross for a Suffolk cross from Newton of Crathie, Ballater.
Feeding sheep (32) sold to £50 gross for a Cheviot wedder from Mid Fearn, Ardgay.
