DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (October, 5th) sold 135 rams at its annual show and sale of Blackface rams, sponsored by Animal Health (Highland) Ltd.

The overall champion was a ram lamb from Mr N. Barclay, Harestone Farm, Insh realising £800 to Messrs Glenavon Estate Ltd, Badnafrave Farm, Tomintoul. The reserve champion award went to a shearling also from Harestone Farm, realising £500 to Messrs Glenalmond Farms, Perth.

Shearlings (121) sold to £2,000 gross from Dalbuiack, Carrbridge.

Two shears (5) sold to £380 gross from Newton of Crathie, Ballater.

Ram lambs (9) sold to £800 gross from Harestone Farm.

Dingwall, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 5th) sold 2,888 store sheep at their sale of Blackface & Cross ewes, gimmers and ewe lambs (including HISHA section).

Lambs (398) averaged £40.49 and sold to £70 gross for a pen of Blackfaces from Bomakelloch, Keith.

Ewes (1,819) averaged £33.28 and sold to £150 gross for a pen of Blackfaces from Arnicle Farm, Glenbarr.

Gimmers (574) averaged £70.05 and sold to £135 gross for a pen of Blackfaces from Newton of Crathie, Ballater.

Feeding sheep (97) sold to £41 gross for a Blackface wedder from Glenurquhart Farm, Cromarty.
