DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (December, 12th) sold 62 MV accredited pedigree females at its annual show and sale.

The judge, Mr J. Green, Drumburn Farm, Keith, awarded the Texel champion to a Strathbogie Yes Sir sired gimmer, carrying a single to Auldhouseburn Billy The Kid, from Mr R. H. Wilson, (Milnbank), North Dorlaithers, Turriff, realising 880gns to Messrs C. & I. Angus, Oldfield, Thurso. Reserve in the Texel section went to a Tophill Wall Street sired ewe lamb consigned from Mr B. Buchan, Clinterty, New Aberdour, Fraserburgh, realising 350gns.

In the Suffolk section, champion went to a Conchar Crusader sired ewe, carrying twins to Cairness Sir William, from Mr J. Douglas, Cairness, Fraserburgh, realising 1,200gns. The reserve award went to a Smithston Superman sired gimmer carrying a pair to Landale Crusader consigned by Mr B. Swanson, East Murkle, Thurso realising 450gns.

In lamb gimmers: Texel sold to 900gns from Mid Haddo, Fyvie. Suffolk sold to 500gns from Cairness, Fraserburgh. Beltex sold to 600gns from Muirfield, Cuminestown. Rouge sold to 200gns Hedgefield, Beauly (dispersal).

In lamb ewes: Suffolk sold to 1,200gns from Cairness. Rouge sold to 350gns from Hedgefield.

Ewe lambs: Texel sold to 400gns from Clinterty. Suffolk sold to 220gns from Mariain, Evanton.
