DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (May, 22nd) sold 91 pedigree and commercial Luing cattle at their eleventh annual spring breeding sale sponsored by W & A Geddes and Harbro Ltd.
Pedigree bulling heifers (47) averaged £2,084.36 and sold to 2,750gns (£2,887.50), twice for 25 month old heifers from Mr G. MacRae, Kintail, 120 Newton of Ferintosh, to James McCaig Farms, Wester Jawcraig, Falkirk.
Pedigree yearling heifers (10) averaged £858.90 and sold to 950gns (£997.50) twice for 13 month old heifers from Mr J. M. Haley, Lochan Farm, Kinrossie to Messrs J. Caygill & Partners, Manor House, Rylstone.
Sim/Luing heifers (27) averaged £1,105.61 and sold to 1,620gns (£1,701.00) from Mr G. Macrae, Kintail to Messrs J. & P. Callion, 6 Skreen Road, Dromore.
Breeding cattle (2) sold to 800gns (£840) for a Luing in calf cow from Mr J. Haley, Lochan Farm, to Messrs J. McKenzie & Co, Wester Craiglands, Fortrose.
Bulls (5) sold to 3,100gns (£3,255) for a 25 month old from Messrs J. J. & R. Cameron, Monzie Farm, a shared purchase by Mr F. S. Renwick, Inverbroom & Shinness Luing, Shinness.
