Caithness company receives Investors in People 10 Year Achievement Award

A Caithness-based organisation has received an award in recognition of its 10 year commitment to using the business improvement tool, the Investors in People Standard.
Ackergill Tower picked up the accolade at a gala dinner at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Wednesday evening (23 March 2005). Over 40 Scottish companies were presented with their award by four times Olympic gold medallist, Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE.
Peter Russian, chief executive of Investors in People Scotland, said: "The awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the people and organisations that are setting a level of good practice for improving their organisations performance through its people.
"The 40 winners set the standards for the rest of industry and the evening was a celebration of the best of the best."
Over 300 guests enjoyed the second 10 Year Achievement Awards hosted by Sally Magnusson with speeches from Allan Wilson MSP, deputy minister for enterprise and lifelong learning and Peter Russian, chief executive of Investors in People Scotland.
Recent independent research by Databuild has shown the Investors in People Standard to improve levels of profitability and productivity over a period of time. Scottish companies holding Investor in People status reported £62 million of additional profit to the bottom line of their business attributing the Standard for the success.
