A strategy to combat serious organised crime has been strengthened following a number of notable successes that have greatly benefitted Scotland's communities and businesses.   The updated Serious Organised Crime Taskforce Strategy will see better collaboration across all sectors with an emphasis on identifying the key threats and ensures Scotland's response to those threats remain effective and continue to reduce the harm that organised crime causes communities.

School Leaver Attainment And Destinations

Scotland's Chief Statistician today published statistics on the initial destinations and attainment of 2020-21 school leavers from Scotland’s publicly funded mainstream schools.   The statistics show the proportion of 2020-21 school leavers attaining National Qualifications at different Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) levels.

Two Glasses Of Wine Might Add More Sugar To Your Diet Than Eating A Doughnut

Soft drinks have been the focus of the UK government's attempts to curb people's sugar intake in recent years, but the same approach has not yet been applied to the sugar content in alcoholic drinks.   The government introduced "sugar taxes" on soft drinks in 2018, meaning manufacturers are charged a levy of up to 24p per litre of drink if it contains eight grams of sugar per 100 millilitres.
