Closing date for Taxi Fund extended to 25 March

Highland Council has announced that the closing date for applications to the Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Driver Support Fund this scheme has been confirmed as 5pm on Thursday 25 March 2021.
The Scottish Government has also now clarified that if you have received a grant through the Taxi Fund this will not now affect any Universal Credit payments you are also receiving.
A council spokesperson said, "You will still need to declare the grant to the Department of Work and Pensions, but they have confirmed that any grants paid through this scheme will not count towards any Universal Credit entitlement.
"We contacted all licensed taxi and private hire vehicle drivers in our area in January to invite them to verify their eligibility for this grant. If you have been put off applying to the fund because you were unsure how this would affect any Universal Credit payments you are receiving, please act now to claim the £1500 grant.
"The closing date for applications has been extended to this Thursday, 25 March 2021."

Tax Scheme Hits £4 Billion Milestone
Households across Scotland have received £4.1 billion in relief since the Council Tax Reduction scheme was introduced in 2013. The Highland Council is preparing to carry out improvement works in Thurso at Ormlie Road and at The Mall riverside path adjacent to Janet Street. An Advantage Of A Big Common Good Fund - Inverness Winter Payments Already Awarded To Over 1,000 Households
