Highland Council To Agree 3 Per Cent Council Tax Rise - Offset for Bands A to D

Highland council hold their Special Meeting on 3 March 2022 to agree the 202223 budget.
A Council Tax increase of 3 per cent has been agreed with the main parties so it looks like a foregone conclusion to pass.
It will be an increase in council tax but offset by a rebate from Scottish Government passed on via the Barnett formula from UK government. The rebate applies to all band A to D houses to help with the increased cost of gas and electricity to hit everyone in April 2022. Any household in Bands E to H in receipt of Council Tax Reduction will also receive the £150 rebate.
