Black Isle And Easter Ross Area Committees Of Highland Council Amalgamated
15th December 2023
Members of Highland Council, who met today, Thursday, 14 December 2023, have agreed to amalgamate two local area committees. The former Black Isle and Easter Ross Area Committees will be merged to form a single area committee.
The new Committee will have ten elected members in total, made up of:
Sarah Atkin (Ward 9 - Black Isle)
Tamala Collier (Ward 6 – Cromarty Firth)
Lyndsey Johnston (Ward 9 – Black Isle)
Derek Louden (Ward 7 – Tain and Easter Ross)
Morven-May MacCallum (Ward 9 – Black Isle)
Pauline Munro (Ward 6 – Cromarty Firth)
Molly Nolan (Ward 6 – Cromarty Firth)
Alasdair Rhind (Ward 7 – Tain and Easter Ross)
Maureen Ross (Ward 7 – Tain and Easter Ross)
Maxine Smith (Ward 6 – Cromarty Firth)
A Chair and Vice-Chair of the newly-formed committee will be agreed when it first meets during 2024.

Timetable for Highland Council By-Elections Confirmed
The timetable for the election of one Councillor to represent Ward 6 Cromarty Firth and one Councillor for Ward 10 Eilean a' Cheò on The Highland Council has been confirmed. Council's In-house Bus Service expands into Caithness
The Highland Council is pleased to announce that from Monday 21 April it's in-house bus team will be delivering the 918 Wick to Berriedale service. This is the first venture for the in-house bus company outside of the Inverness area since the successful introduction and launch of Highland Council Buses.

Highland Council Charitable Trusts award over £100,000 to schools and community groups

Highland Council is implementing several changes to service charges in 2025: Council Rent Charges: An 8% increase has been agreed for council homes to address rising costs and fund housing improvements.
