The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Caithness

Marginal temperatures on 4 routes this morning, treated as a precaution. Damp roads with some standing water. No other winter action required. No other known issues to report.
Skye and Raasay

After a cold start to the evening, road surface temperatures recovered in the early hours to positive temperatures. Localised reports of black ice were treated. Gritting as per policy. No other known overnight issues reported.
Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh

Bealach na Ba reopened at 13:00 yesterday. Road surface temperatures dropped below zero on our mountain passes this morning, namely Mam Ratagan and Bealach na Ba, where light snow and ice reported. Treatments are on-going and both passes are open. No overnight issues.
Lochaber

Heavy rain throughout night, route 9 and route 10 treated as forecast had changed to low road surface temperatures and sleet.
Nairn

egative temps on higher routes this morning with frost and ice covering the network. Primary and Secondary routes being treated. No known overnight issues.
Inverness

Some low road surface temperatures this morning but salt levels still good. Roads checked and no action taken. No known issues.
Badenoch and Strathspey

Negative temperatures throughout the area this morning with frost and ice covering the network. Primary and Secondary routes as well as footpaths being treated. No known overnight issues.
