Contractors Deadline Extended By Highland Council

Deadline extended for local contractors to apply for construction works opportunities with Highland Council.

Local contractors in the Highlands have been given an extra week within which to apply to The Highland Council to join its new Contractors Framework Agreement.

The deadline for expressions of interest has been extended to 18 July 2012 and the closing date for receipt of completed applications is now 12 noon on 23 July 2012.

The Highland Council is renewing its Contractors Framework agreement, which will be used by Services within the Council for selecting contractors to carry out construction works covering reactive day to day repairs, general maintenance works and minor projects up to an increased value of £50,000.

The Council wrote to all contractors who are part of the current £25k Contractors Framework to give them notice of the new framework being advertised.

This new agreement, which will commence on the 3rd September 2012, will cover a three year programme but will be re-opened and re-advertised at six monthly intervals to provide the opportunity for new contractors to apply.

Local contractors who are not on the Council's current framework are being invited to apply to join the Council's new framework.

The framework details and application forms have been advertised on www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk and the Council recommends that contractors register with this website if they have not already done so.

Highland Council Committee Confirms Public Conveniences Action Plan
Members of the Highland Council's Community and Place Committee have given their support to an action plan focusing on the operating of public conveniences over the next 10 years.   Whilst not a statutory function, the Council is the main provider of public conveniences located throughout Highland, operating 74 sites.
