Longman Park modular homes help deliver Fairer Highland commitments
21st May 2026
The Highland Council has successfully completed phases one and two of new modular âpark-styleâ homes at the Gypsy/Traveller site at Longman Park, Inverness.
Funded primarily through the Scottish Governmentâs Gypsy/Traveller Accommodation Fund, more than ÂŁ7 million has been invested to upgrade and future-proof accommodation and site facilities.
The development reflects close engagement with the Gypsy/Traveller community to understand residentsâ preferences and aspirations, alongside meeting updated fire safety standards and aligning with the Scottish Governmentâs Interim Site Design Guide.
Further improvements are planned, with a new play area and community meeting space scheduled for completion in summer 2026.
Chair of the Housing and Property Committee, Cllr Glynis Campbell Sinclair, said: âThe Highland Council wishes all residents at Longman Park every happiness in their new modular âpark-styleâ homes. We are grateful to the Scottish Government for its support through the Gypsy/Traveller Accommodation Fund and the Vacant and Derelict Land Investment Programme (DVLIP).
âThis investment has enabled us to significantly enhance accommodation and facilities at Longman Park, bringing them up to the standard we aim to provide for all Council tenants. It reflects our commitment to improving quality of life for residents and delivering on our âFairer Highlandâ commitments.
âFeedback from residents in both phases has been extremely positive, and we thank the Gypsy/Traveller community for their valued partnership in delivering this project.â
