Mobile devices have transformed our daily lives and how, when and where your customers engage with their mobile devices is key to understanding how and where to reach them. Whether you are a small or large tourism operator it is important for you to think about how your customers are living and consider the best ways to reach them.

Gamification is about taking the essence of games fun, play and passion and applying it to real world, non game situations. According to a World Travel Market Report (2011) Gamification is a major trend for the coming years in tourism. Some businesses are making their website and applications feel less like transactions and more like games. Scottish Tourism is already full of fun, play, passion and Highland Games, but what exactly is the potential of gamification for our tourism industry?
