28% Yearly Increase In Scottish Insolvencies

Overall, corporate insolvency numbers (liquidations and receiverships) in Scotland for Q2 2022-2023 increased by 28% compared with Q2 2021-2022.   The number of corporate insolvencies (liquidations and receiverships) in Scotland for Q2 2022-2023 increased by 10.7% compared with the previous quarter (April-June 2022).

Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd - Lochmaddy Sale 24 October 2022

Lochmaddy, Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd., (October 24th) sold 162 store and weaned calves and 14 OTM cattle.   Bullocks (87) averaged 237.0p per kg and sold to 322.7p per kg for a 220kg Limousin cross from Druim Torrach Croft, 17 Hougharry and £1,090 gross for a 430kg Limousin cross also from Druim Torrach Croft.

UHI has appointed Vicki Nairn as Interim Principal and Vice-Chancellor.   Vicki joined UHI as Vice-Principal Operations from Robert Gordon University where she held the roles of Vice Principal Corporate Operations, leading the development, delivery and implementation of corporate, financial, commercial and resource strategies.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October 25th) sold 8 Prime Cattle.   Prime Heifers (8) averaged 251.4p per kg (+3.3p) and sold to 258.0p per kg and £1,531.35 gross.

Gaelic education and community projects will benefit from almost £3 million as part of plans to expand the reach of the language across Scotland.   The Gaelic Capital Fund, which is now in its 14th year, will help support the growth of a number of projects over the coming year.

FCA Proposes New Rules To Tackle Greenwashing

In a bid to clamp down on greenwashing, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is proposing a package of new measures including investment product sustainability labels and restrictions on how terms like ‘ESG', ‘green' or ‘sustainable' can be used.   The measures are among several potential new rules which will protect consumers and improve trust in sustainable investment products.

Essex Mobile Catering Firm Duo Banned For A Total Of 16 Years - Many More Company Directors are being Pursued

Company wrongly claimed £20,000 Bounce Back Loan after exaggerating its turnover by more than 7 times the actual amount.   Vicki Holland, 47 and Darren Robert Trutt, 51, both from Harlow in Essex have been disqualified for a total 16 years after falsely claiming a £20,000 Bounce Back Loan (BBL) Vicki Holland and Darren Trutt were directors of Crepe Heaven Ltd, which was incorporated in 2013 and ran as a mobile catering company until it went into liquidation in October 2021.

With 100 days to go until the deadline for online returns, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is reminding Self Assessment customers that the countdown to complete their tax return has begun.   Self Assessment customers have until 31 January 2023 to submit their online return for the 2021 to 2022 tax year.

Dounreay Recycles 98% Of Reactor Decommissioning Waste

The fuel element storage block has now been demolished.  This steel tank was 4.7m high and 2.8m in diameter, surrounded by an iron-shot concrete cylinder, and was capped off by a thick steel top plate.

Moody's Changes The Outlook On The UK To Negative Affirms Aa3 Ratings

Moody's Investors Service ("Moody's") has on Friday changed the outlook on the Government of the United Kingdom's (UK) ratings to negative from stable and affirmed the domestic and foreign-currency long-term issuer and domestic-currency senior unsecured ratings at Aa3.   The outlook on the Bank of England's (BoE) ratings has also changed to negative from stable and its Aa3 long-term foreign- and domestic-currency issuer and foreign-currency senior unsecured bond ratings, as well as its (P)Aa3 foreign-currency senior unsecured MTN programme rating have been affirmed.
