Scottish Parliamentary Election 2021 Result For Caithness, Sutherland And Ross Constituency - Maree Todd wins

The Constituency and Regional Returning Officer for Highland and Islands, Donna Manson has declared the result for the Scottish Parliamentary constituency of Caithness, Sutherland and Ross.   The turnout for the Caithness, Sutherland and Ross constituency was 64.8%.

The Constituency and Regional Returning Officer for Highland and Islands, Donna Manson has declared the results for the Scottish Parliamentary constituency of Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch.   The turnout for the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency was 68.7%.

Bank Rate Maintained At 0.1% - May 2021

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) sets monetary policy to meet the 2% inflation target, and in a way that helps to sustain growth and employment.  At its meeting ending on 5 May 2021, the Committee judged that the existing stance of monetary policy remained appropriate.

GDP Quarterly National Accounts For 2020 Quarter 4

Scotland's GDP is now estimated to have grown by 2.3% during 2020 Quarter 4, revised up from the first estimate of 2.0% published in March, according to statistics announced today by the Chief Statistician.   For 2020 as a whole, annual GDP is estimated to have fallen by 9.6% in real terms compared to 2019, unrevised from the first estimate.

HIE chief executive to step down in summer

Charlotte Wright, who has led the development agency for the past five years, has announced she plans to step down in the summer for personal reasons.   In a message to staff, Ms Wright said she had taken the difficult decision to resign after a great deal of careful thought.

Australians To Face 5-yr Jail Or Hefty Fine If They Return Home From India

The decision was based on the proportion of overseas travellers in quarantine in Australia, who have contracted the infection in India.   Threatening a five-year jail term or hefty fine, the Australian government temporarily barred its citizens from entering the country if they happened to be in India within 14 days of their intended arrival.

UK Credit Unions Has Reached Its Highest Reported Value At £3.98 Billion

The latest quarterly report by the Bank of England shows UK Credit Unions continue to increase in strength.   The report published on 30 April 2021 showed - Adult membership of credit unions increased in 2020 Q4 after decreasing in 2020 Q3.
