Rising Council Tax will be another squeeze on low-income Scots
The Scottish budget presented by Derek Mackay MSP the Scottish Government finance minister will give councils the chance to raise council tax by up to 4.79%.   This is slightly higher than the 3% allowed last year after several years of council tax freeze.

BT Group contributes £1.2bn to Scottish economy
BT Group is responsible for generating £1 in every £110 produced in the Scottish economy, according to an independent report published today.   ‘The Economic Impact of BT Group plc in the UK' report, by Hatch Regeneris, shows that the communications company generated an £1.2bn contribution - expressed as "Gross Value Added" (GVA)* - to the Scottish economy during the 2017/18 financial year.

Bionic Arm Start Up Secures £4.6 Million To Go Global
More children and young people set to benefit from 3D printed ‘hero' arm, which has received support through Innovate UK's SBRI programme.   Bristol-based Open Bionics will take its bespoke 3D-printed prosthetic arms to even more children and young people, after attracting £4.6 million from investors.

Update On Fishing For Sea Bass In 2019
Revised rules relating to fishing for sea bass came in from midnight 31 January 2019.   Following the publication of the 2019 Total Allowable Catch Regulation in the official journal of the European Union, the revised rules relating to fishing for sea bass now apply.
