Newtonhill Planting Day
Volunteers completed the final stages of the pond project at the new community woodland at Newtonhill, Wick on Sunday (22 April 2012). The overall project has involved excavating and landscaping an old pond and installing an all abilities pond dipping platform.19/4/2012

Passenger Numbers Increase At HIAL Airports
Passenger numbers at Scotland's regional airports continued to grow last month, boosted by the success of Inverness Airport's flagship Amsterdam service and growth in the oil sector. Figures released by HIAL, which operates a network of 11 airports across Scotland, show that passenger numbers across the group rose by 4.1% to 98,109 in March.16/4/2012

Weekly update from CNSRP - week commencing 9th April Energy: Scottish Government has confirmed that the Enterprise Area at Scrabster will be able to offer potential investor companies rates relief of up to 100% (up to £275,000 per business) as part of the incentive to locate at the site, which is on land above the harbour. The Enterprise Area designation, which lasts for 5 years, came into force last week for 14 sites around Scotland.15/4/2012
New Garden Centre and Cafe Opens
A new Garden Centre and Cafe has opened in the old Lochshell filling station outside Wick and just along from Tesco. The new place is called Rivendell taking its name from the Lord of the Rings story.14/4/2012
