Mey Selections latest employee signs off Christmas order from Caithness Biscuits in Wick

Caithness Cattle Heavily Featured In Dingwall & Highland Marts Show And Sale Of Store Cattle

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (4th October 2007) sold 1,119 store and over thirty month cattle at their show and sale including special Aberdeen Angus section.   The judge Mr Neil Anderson, Inverlochty, Elgin chose an 18 month, 495kg Charolais cross heifer as his champion from Upper Latheron, Caithness, which realised �700 to C Maciver, Easter Strath of Auchterflow.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (September, 12th) sold 189 store cattle.   Bullocks (89) averaged 118.5p per kg and sold to 135p for 307kg Limousins from Garthbeg Farms, Gorthleck, and �640 gross for a 515kg Limousin from Dalchork, Lairg.  

Dingwall Store Lambs Sale - 6 September 2007

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (September, 6th) sold 5,495 store, breeding and feeding sheep.   Charolais cross (65) averaged �35.32 and sold to �41 gross from Achtuie, Drumnadrochit.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (September, 5th) sold 32 prime cattle and 405 prime sheep.   Prime bullocks (15) averaged 128.5p (+4.4p) and sold to 139p per kg for a 640kg Charolais cross from Balchraggan, Dores, and �897.60 gross for a 660kg Charolais cross from Udale, Poyntzfield, both to John M Munro Ltd., Dingwall.  

Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd Resume Sales After Restrictions Lifted

Dingwall & Highland Marts Limited held their first Prime sale since the restrictions on the movement of livestock were lifted following the Foot and Mouth outbreak in England.  The firm had their firs sale of over 2000 lambs in Portree on Monday the 27th August 2007 and have rescheduled sales over the next fortnight as follows.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (July, 31st ) sold 45 prime cattle and 144 prime sheep.   Prime bullocks (18) averaged 128.9p (-1.6p) and sold to 145p per kg for a 505kg Belgian Blue cross from Castlecraig Farms, Nigg, to Ness Foods, Inverness, and �878.40 gross for a 720kg Limousin from Dochcarty Farm, Dingwall, to Woodhead brothers, Turriff.
